Both
‘Dialogue’ and ‘Unwinding’ were commissioned by
Development Securities plc and were installed between 2001-2002 in their
new development, 11 Pilgrim Street, London.
‘Dialogue’ is a 6 meter long two-part copper wall sculpture,
which hangs above the reception area on the ground floor of the building.
The sculpture offers a dramatic and contemporary welcome to visitors,
whilst ‘guiding’ them past the reception through to the rest
of the building.
‘Unwinding’ is a 3 meter tall, 4 meter wide, free standing
stainless steel sculpture. It is situated in the lower ground floor atrium.
As a form, it needed to be engaging both when viewed face-on from lower
ground offices and from above from as high as seventh floor. It was important
that the piece added both dynamics and a sense of calm to the space. I
also wanted it to offer a ‘journey’ for the eye, as a visual
break from the office work.
